Marisa Paradiso

Marisa Y. Paradiso (Admitted NJ, NY, CO)

Ms. Paradiso graduated from Lafayette College in 1980, with a B.A. Degree in Psychology.  While in college, she was a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.  She received her J.D. Degree from Pace University School of Law in 1984, and was the recipient of the James S. May Award in Trusts and Estates.

 

 After graduating law school, Ms. Paradiso initially practiced criminal law.  She then went on to practice general commercial litigation.  From 1985 to 1988, she was an associate at Kronenberg & Gilbert, Paramus, New Jersey, where she concentrated on equipment leasing and collection.  From 1988 to 1990, Ms. Paradiso was an Associate at Cuyler, Burk & Matthews, Florham Park, New Jersey, where she concentrated on environmental insurance coverage law.

 

 In 1990, Ms. Paradiso returned to law school to get a Masters Degree in Environmental Law.  In 1991, she received her LL.M. Degree in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law.  Since 1991, Ms. Paradiso has maintained her own practice and has also acted of counsel to Jonathan H. Roth, Esquire, practicing primarily environmental law and commercial litigation.  She has represented clients in such matters as private clean-up cost recovery actions, declaratory judgment actions against insurance carriers, toxic tort actions, employment discrimination/harassment actions, creditor collection actions, medical waste violation proceedings, and real estate transfers involving environmental problems.  In 1992, she was nominated for the 1992 Pace University Environmental Law Alumni Award.

 

Ms. Paradiso is admitted in New Jersey, New York, and Colorado.  She is a member of the New Jersey, New York, Colorado, and American Bar Associations.  From 1987 to 1988, she served as the Bergen and Hudson County Representative to the New Jersey State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.  From 1988 to 1989, she was the Chairman of the Seminars Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.  Ms. Paradiso is also a member of the National Alliance of Women in Waste.

 

On April 20, 1993, Ms. Paradiso spoke on the topics of "Environmental Insurance Coverage" and "Working with Environmental Consultants" at the "Hot Topics in Environmental Law" Seminar sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.  On October 20, 1993, Ms. Paradiso spoke on the topic of "Environmental Insurance Coverage in Light of the New Jersey Supreme Court's July 21, 1993 Decision in Morton International Inc. v. General Accident Insurance Company of America et al." at an ISRA Seminar sponsored by Manufacturing & Management Magazine.

 

Ms. Paradiso is a member of The National Alliance of Women in Waste.  She is also a member of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey.  Ms. Paradiso resides in Oakridge, New Jersey, and presently is a Board Member and The President of the Berkshire Ridge Condominium Association.



Howard Davis

Howard P. Davis (Admitted NJ, NY,)

Mr. Davis received his B.A. from the State University of New York, majoring in both Political Science and Psychology.  After graduating college, Mr. Davis attended Fordham University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in Law in 1987.  In 1990, Mr. Davis returned to law school to get a Masters Degree in Environmental Law.  In 1990, he received his LL.M. Degree in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law.

Before starting his own practice, Mr. Davis was an Associate at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. in Morristown, New Jersey, and later a Partner at Farer Fesko, in Westfield, New Jersey.  Over the years, Mr. Davis has concentrated in regulatory compliance and permitting issues regarding RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act, and transaction-triggered laws such as ISRA (formerly ECRA).  Mr. Davis now maintains his own law practice in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

 

Mr. Davis has written numerous articles and has presented many seminars on various environmental issues.  Mr. Davis is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Bergen County Bar Association.



Jonathan Roth

Jonathan H. Roth (Admitted NJ, NY, MA)

Mr. Roth received a degree in Zoology from the University of Vermont and completed his graduate education in 1982 when he was the first student to receive a Joint Degree in Law, Magna Cum Laude, from the Syracuse College of Law and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from the State University of New York, College of Forestry and Environmental Science.  While at the College of Law, Mr. Roth was President of the Environmental Law Society and member of the Law Review Board of Editors and the Justinian Honorary Law Society.  He was made a member of Syracuse Chapter of the Order of the Coif, the National Law Students Honor Society in December, 1982.

 

After graduating from law school, Mr. Roth worked as an Associate at Schwartz, Tobia & Stanziale, Montclair, New Jersey, and later in General Electric's Legal Department.  He subsequently became an Associate at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, Morristown, New Jersey, where he concentrated on environmental regulatory compliance matters.

   

Since 1991, Mr. Roth has maintained his own practice.  In 1993, he also started acting of counsel to Ms. Paradiso.  Mr. Roth has represented many types of clients with regard to state and federal environmental laws including ECRA, Underground Storage Tanks, RCRA, CERCLA, NJPDES, and the New NJDEPE Voluntary Clean-Up Program. 

 

Mr. Roth is a co-author of the Complete Guide to Environmental Liability and Enforcement in New Jersey and is a member of the editorial staff of Manufacturing and Management magazine where his column, "The Environmental Forum," appears regularly.  His articles on environmental issues are also featured on a regular basis in the New Jersey Law Journal.  On April 20, 1993, Mr. Roth spoke on the topic of "The New NJDEPE Voluntary Clean-Up Program" at the "Hot Topics in Environmental Law" Seminar sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Association.

 

Mr. Roth is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts.  He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Hudson County Bar Association.  He is also a member of the ECRA Committee of the Corporate and Business Law Section, New Jersey State Bar Association.
